Sometimes when you think you've found something, it turns out that it's something totally different. Case in point, Merci on Boulevard Beaumarchais. At first sight I was pretty sure it was a thoughtfully-plucked flower shop. Apparently, I was wrong and found something much cooler: the best concept store this city has to offer.
From the founders of the adorably chic French children's fashion brand Bonpoint, a three-story boutique emporium plants itself in the Haut Marais. This gorgeous space houses a darling secondhand literary cafe, limited edition designer duds, and an eclectic medley of interior decor that easily makes me swoon. One longing gaze at a display in Merci and I want to run home, gut my pad and start over again using only their swanky stuff. Ever get that feeling?
A small restaurant downstairs with a seasonal changing menu serves incredibly fresh salads, a favorite amongst the in-the-know locals who pack it up by 1pm. All profits after overheads go charitably towards children in Madagascar.
